Measure the space

How much length you actually need

Decoration is sold by length and looks short once it is hung. These four figures decide how much to order.

  1. Add a fifth to any wall run. Garlands and buntings drape rather than sit flat, and the slack has to come from somewhere.
  2. A doorway toran is measured across the frame. Measure the outside of the frame, not the opening, or it will not reach the fixings.
  3. Artificial flowers are listed by stem count. Two bunches of ten stems do not fill the same space as one bunch of twenty in a wide vase.
  4. Fabric colour varies between dye lots. Where two pieces must match, order them together rather than reordering later.

Delivery before the date

Festival weeks slow couriers down. Order to arrive a few days early rather than on the day.
